And these words, which I command thee this day,
shall be in
thine heart: And thou shalt teach them
diligently unto thy children. Deu 6:6-7
Since 1989, First Christian Academy has been proving a quality education to elementary school students through the Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E) curriculum, a college-preparatory program. With the A.C.E. curriculum, younger children learn basic knowledge and thinking skills. Knowledge-based questions focus on the who, what, where, and when. This Biblical principle of line upon line, precept upon precept spiral from simple to complex information. This aids in a child's learning since he is able to build from the known to the unknown. While conventional classrooms group students by age rather than ability, students in a Learning Center using A.C.E. curriculum work in individual offices and learn and study according to to personalized levels of learning.
"... at some point there has to be an end to mediocrity....
High standards do not set children on a path to failure. High standards set our children on the path to success."
President George W. Bush
With A.C.E, character is an essential element of every subject and every day spent in a Learning Center. Choosing an A.C.E. School gives your child the opportunity to see character in action. Sixty Biblical character traits form the basis for your child’s total educational package. From Kindergarten to graduation, the A.C.E Curriculum encourages character development. All students at FCA receive the spiritual benefit of a weekly chapel service as well as scripture memorization. Students that attend FCA are taught to behave in a manner that supports and demonstrates Christian character and values on and off campus. FCA takes a strong stand for honesty, integrity, moral purity, respect, and obedience to authority figures -- at home, school, church or community.
Attendance
Our school calendar operates on four nine-week sessions. Our Primary Department (PreK-3rd Grade) operated on a five day per week (Mon-Fri.) schedule. FCA uses this schedule for this age group because children of this age tend to forget what they have learned during a long weekend.
FCA is required by law to follow the State Mandated Attendance Policy. According to this policy, all non-excused tardies count as absences. Only tardies acknowledged by the school will be excused. Students from Kindergarten - High School by law must be retained for excessive absences/tardies.
